BoardCast is a Chrome extension that automatically rotates through your Jira dashboards and boards on unattended wallboard displays. It's perfect for teams who want to keep Jira metrics visible on office TVs and monitors.

Install BoardCast from the Chrome Web Store:
For Jira Cloud organizations requiring license validation, install the companion Forge app from the Atlassian Marketplace.
Note: The Forge app is only required for organizations using Atlassian Marketplace licensing. The Chrome extension works independently for basic functionality.
Get up and running in minutes:
Click the BoardCast icon in your browser toolbar to open the popup
Create a new profile or use the default profile
Add Jira dashboard URLs to your playlist
Set dwell times for each item (how long to display)
Click "Start Rotation" to begin cycling through dashboards
Tip: For the best wallboard experience, press F11 to enter fullscreen mode after starting rotation.
BoardCast automatically cycles through all the Jira dashboards and boards in your playlist. Each item displays for its configured dwell time before advancing to the next.
Set how long each dashboard displays before rotating. Different dashboards can have different dwell times - show important dashboards longer, or cycle through status boards quickly.
Keep your data current with automatic page refreshes. BoardCast periodically refreshes the page to ensure you're always seeing the latest information.
When BoardCast detects mouse movement or keyboard activity, it automatically pauses rotation. This allows team members to interact with a dashboard without it rotating away. Rotation automatically resumes after a configurable delay.
BoardCast monitors for common issues like session expiration and network problems. When issues are detected, you'll be notified so you can take action.
For 24/7 displays, BoardCast performs periodic hard refreshes to prevent memory bloat. This keeps your wallboard running smoothly for extended periods.
Create different rotation profiles for different wallboards or use cases. Each profile has its own playlist and settings.
Automatically enable Jira's built-in wallboard view for a cleaner, more readable display. You can also optionally hide Jira's navigation chrome for maximum screen real estate.

Remove Jira navigation elements for a cleaner display
Each profile has global settings that apply to all items in the playlist:
Add random variation to dwell times. Useful if you have multiple wallboards and don't want them perfectly synchronized.
Automatically pause rotation when mouse or keyboard activity is detected on the page.
How long to wait (in seconds) before resuming rotation after the last detected interaction.
Perform a full page refresh after completing this many rotation cycles. Helps prevent memory issues on long-running displays. Set to 0 to disable.
For organizations using Jira Cloud, BoardCast integrates with the Atlassian Marketplace for licensing.
License validation is handled entirely by Atlassian's Forge platform. No personal data is transmitted beyond what Atlassian requires for license validation. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
Check if Smart Pause is enabled and there's mouse/keyboard activity. Also verify that your Jira session hasn't expired - BoardCast will pause if it detects a login page.
Ensure you're logged into Jira in the same browser. BoardCast uses your existing Jira session and cannot log in on your behalf.
Some Jira dashboard types don't support wallboard mode. Try enabling "Hide Chrome" instead for a cleaner view.
The extension only activates on Atlassian domains (*.atlassian.net). Navigate to a Jira page first.
